The School of Economic Disciplines is accepting applications for the position of an Associate Professor (Salary Group W2) with special focus on „Computer-Supported Cooperative Work and Social Media“. Successful candidates should be ready to participate in teaching and contribute to the continuous improvement of the faculties’ bachelor and master programs in „Information Systems“ and „Human Computer Interaction“, as well as in the interdisciplinary master program „Media and Society“ (taught in German and English). The position includes academic administrative responsibilities as well as mentoring and advising students and student applicants. Candidates are required to hold a PhD degree and a habilitation degree (or an equivalent post-doctoral research record). They will have the opportunity to become part of the exciting research landscape of our University, specifically the Research Center ”Zukunft menschlich gestalten” (“Shaping the Future in a Humane Manner“) and the German
Research Foundation’s research school „Locating Media“ (DFG GRK 1769). Applicants should have an outstanding research record in the areas of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) or Social Media, including high-level publications at international conferences and in journals and a proven track record in acquiring and managing research projects. Possible application domains can include, but are not limited to Interorganizational Cooperation, Knowledge Management, Prosumption, Civil Security Organisations, or Governance and Political Participation. The ideal candidate should have established a wide international research network in Information Systems, CSCW, and Social Media, underpinned by a strong record of participation in conference and programme committees. Prospective candidates should embrace human-centred and practice-oriented research approaches and have experience with organisational software or social media in business environments.
